Gameplay graphics: There has been a clear enhancement to the graphics for FIFA 16. They will actually take some getting used to, but long term it will surely be more enjoyable than the dull menus of the past. Positioning was a major problem that appears to have been improved, and there seems to be much more aggression in dealing with crosses, which was needed with the new crossing functionality. Goalkeeping: A big step forward has been made with the keepers, but they do still make the odd mistake. Heading feels very effective, but the new crossing means that it will be more difficult to consistently score from them. The finesse shot seems very well balanced, and power shots have more dip and curve to them, depending on the player taking the shot.
Shooting: The animations have been improved to make shooting look far more natural, that said, it can certainly be difficult to beat the keepers on the higher difficulty levels. Defending: Overall the defenders are much smarter in FIFA 16, and will cover space in a why that they have never done in previous games, tracking back is noticeably better, and the ability to instruct players to intercept aggressively or conservatively depending on your play-style is a nice touch. Crossing has been overhauled and looks far more true to life, meaning you can swing in curving balls from deeper, rather than have to be in line with the attacker.
Interceptions are far more common, as the defenders can predict simple passes. Passing: It is far more difficult to pass the ball in FIFA 16, which again is a positive, as it was far too easy to just ping the ball around first-time. Pace: The overall pace of the game is slower, which is a positive thing. Initial impressions after a few hours on the demo.
